Marysia – a glamorous former City Trader, left the trading floor for the stage, and is now a comedian, jazz/cabaret singer and instrumentalist. As a teenager Marysia joined the Air Training Corps where she flew planes and learned to shoot rifles. Her great, great grandfather was Poland’s equivalent of Shakespeare so creativity and vodka are in her blood, driving her to leave the City and move to LA to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In 2006 she performed at the Edinburgh Festival in her own cabaret show ‘Marysia’s Slightly Bitter and Twisted Lessons In Love’ inspired by her days of partying around the world. In 2007 at the Edinburgh Fringe, Marysia performed two shows a night; her own “Find Me a Primitive Man” and compered the “Midnight Carousel” cabaret show for C Venues for the whole Edinburgh run. Marysia took her own show to the Montreal Fringe Festival in 2008.
Cooking and Cabaret is her first show at the Brighton Festival Fringe. Her father is Polish, her mother English.
