Cooking and Cabaret
Take one Funny Women Finalist (Elizabeth Mee), one Edinburgh/Montreal/London cabaret diva (Marysia) and unspeakable amounts of chocolate, add wicked amounts of naughty comic tales and scandalous chansons, stir vigorously to create a delicious, devilish treat of calorific ecstasy, and serve with lashings of laughter.
This brand new show “Cooking and Cabaret” premiered at the Brighton Festival Fringe 2010. The show debuted at the Laughing Horse@The Temple for 9 days starting on 1st May.
We had packed audiences and sold out on the last weekend. But never fear, Cooking and Cabaret will be coming ti London soon. Email us if you want to make a booking for the show.
Radio, Video, Press clips all will be added to the site in the next couple of weeks once we have recovered from the show and Marysia has adjusted to life without her fascinator. Life is so much simpler when you gaze at from under a Merry Widow veil.
Join Elizabeth, Marysia and Araminta as they teach you about the Essentials of Life…chocolate, men and chocolate. Marysia recounts her experiences of love and men ( the two are not related) whilst Araminta, live on stage, creates the dish that gave her everything she ever wanted, a Debenture at Wimbledon. A cabaret singer and a cook, with nothing in common, share a stage, what could possibly go wrong?
The ladies met on a stand up comedy course 4 years ago, Cooking and Cabaret is their first co-venture together - there will be a fight over the chocolate....and the song choices... and the dressing room
* Elizabeth is being interviewed in the June edition of Prima Magazine - just out. It has a delightful picture of her (see her page). Also check out Prima magazine blog.
**Breaking news - we have just ordered some very special Cooking and Cabaret Brighton Festival teatowels - we will be selling them at the shows and also online once we have had delivery. See Teatowel page for the image.
What a way to put some comedy into your kitchen ;-)
